JIM TURKO

Jim Turko was born in 1901 and died in 1983.  Jim worked for Hillcrest driving buldozer in the logging division from 1950 until 1964, then moved into the sawmill and stayed until closing in 1968.

 

MARY TURKO

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Mary was born in 1919 and is still going strong at 95 years young.  After raising seven children of her own Mary went to work babysitting and housekeeping for Dot Ryan, Cathy Cox, and Georgie Grant.

 

Here Mary is pictured presenting her handiwork of artifical roses to reunion co-coordinator Joyce Ashley at a recent reunion in Mesachie Lake.

  John Turko

Started working in the sawmill on summer holidays 1952-1954 then full time in the steam plant till 1968 He was a member of the fire department from 1956-1968.

JOHN TURKO

BILL TURKO

BILL TURKO. Seated in photo on left talking with Bob Crawford at a Hillcrest reunion.

Bill started working in the sawmill doing clean-up and then started full time in the steam plant while still attending school. Bill worked until 1964. Bill was a member of the fire department from 1960 -1964. Bill was also a boy scout leader from 1959-1964. Bill and Lynn and I were married in the St. Christophers church in 1965..

BOB TURKO

Doug Turko- Worked for Don's Low Cost from 1960-1962 then started working in the sawmill part-time then full time from 1964 -1968. He was a boy scout from 1959-1964.

Doug is pictured in the centre in the photo on the right.

ANN ADAMSCHEK

Bob pictured far right.

BobTurko worked for Don's Low Cost from 1956-1959 then worked in the logging from1960-1961. He was a boy scout and a Rover from 1955-1962. Bob's wife Judy also worked at the store. They were also married in St. Christophers Church the church in 1964

DOUG TURKO

Ann Adamschek (nee Turko) worked for Don's Low Cost from 1960-1962  Don sold the store to Verla Evans and Ann worked for Verla from 1963-1964. Ann and Ed were also married in St Christophers church in 1967.

Maryann Anderson (Turko)

 

Maryann Anderson (nee Turko) Worked at Mesachie Lake General Store for Newman Bunch from 1967-1968. The store was sold to Betty Lee and Maryann worked for her from 1968-1970.

ROSE WHITE (TURKO)

Rose White(nee Turko) worked for Don Berry's Low Cost Store from 1957-1962. Rose's husband John worked as a faller at Hillcrest. They were also married in St Christophers church in 1961.
