LAWSON FAMILY

Gordon Earl Lawson:  Gordon worked at the old Sahtlam mill in 1933 driving Jitney and carrier. Gordon lived in the town site in a company house with his wife and family.

Robert Mitchell Lawson:  Brother of Gordon.  Robert was a bull cook at the mill.

Harold Lawson:  Harold startred working at Hillcrest in 1945 dogging on the head rig carriage for Roy Francis.  Harold also worked in the gang mill running the pony edger.  Harold also worked in the planer mill and at one time or another ran all of the planers.  Harold also drove carrier for a while.

Harold is pictured in the photo to the left selling the Hillcrest souvenir hats.  Harold has been a loyal attendee for 10 years and has sold dozens of the souvenir hats over the years.

Harold retired to Honeymoon Bay where he does woodworking as a hobby.

I worked with Harold in the planer mill for many years. We helped to pull another feeders arm out of a planer after the feed rolls grabbed his glove and started to pull him in.  Luckily he wasn't badly hurt, and was able to return to work in a few weeks.
